Tata Motors has achieved a historic milestone by recording its highest-ever monthly sales in September 2025. The Indian automaker dispatched 59,667 units in the domestic market, marking a 45% year-on-year growth compared to September 2024. The strong performance was supported by festive season demand, GST 2.0 price reduction, and attractive offers across Tata’s SUV and hatchback lineup.
This exceptional month also helped Tata achieve its best quarterly results in Q2 FY26, setting a strong tone for the rest of the festive period.
Tata Nexon Shines As The Brand’s Best-Selling SUV With Record Numbers
At the top of Tata’s chart is the Tata Nexon, which continues its dominance in the compact SUV market. With 22,573 units sold, it recorded a 97% YoY growth, becoming the highest-selling Tata vehicle ever in a single month. The Nexon’s wide range of options — petrol, diesel, CNG, and electric (EV) — gives it a clear edge, catering to every type of customer.
Tata Punch, Tiago, And Altroz Maintain Strong Growth Momentum
The Tata Punch continued its strong performance with 15,891 units, up 16% YoY, and even posted a 48% jump over August 2025.
Meanwhile, the Tata Tiago almost doubled its numbers to 8,322 units, thanks to high demand for CNG and AMT variants. The Tata Altroz also posted 4,168 units, a 51% YoY growth, supported by recent cosmetic updates and new features.
Harrier And Safari See Big Surge; Curvv Faces A Sharp Drop
The Tata Harrier delivered a remarkable 161% growth with 4,181 units, while the Safari followed with 2,000 units, showing a solid 22% rise. However, the Tata Curvv witnessed a 67% decline, selling just 1,566 units compared to last year.
Tata Motors Looks Ahead With The Upcoming Sierra SUV Launch In 2026
With SUVs contributing nearly 80% of its total sales, Tata Motors continues to strengthen its leadership. The upcoming Tata Sierra, set for launch in early 2026, is expected to further enhance its presence in the midsize SUV space.
