Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has officially revealed its most ambitious plan yet during its first-ever Investor Day held on October 15, 2025. The South Korean auto giant outlined a bold roadmap focusing on product expansion, electrification, localisation, and long-term financial growth. With an investment of ₹45,000 crore, Hyundai aims to make India its second-largest market globally by 2030.
Hyundai’s new strategy includes a massive 26 new launches by FY2030 — and out of these, seven will be brand-new nameplates entering completely new segments for the company. Two of the biggest highlights of this expansion are the launch of a brand-new MPV and an off-road SUV designed specifically for Indian customers.
New Hyundai MPV—A Spacious Family Car Built For India
Hyundai is finally stepping into the MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) segment in India. This will mark the brand’s debut in a category dominated by models like the Maruti Ertiga and Kia Carens. At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, Hyundai showcased its global MPV, the Staria, which impressed everyone with its futuristic design and premium interiors.
Reports suggest that Hyundai might also develop an India-focused MPV, possibly based on the Stargazer platform, to make it more affordable and competitive for the Indian market. The MPV is expected to feature smart seating flexibility, premium comfort, connected tech, and advanced safety features, catering to families who want practicality with a premium touch.
Hyundai’s Upcoming Off-Road SUV – Designed For Adventure Lovers
Alongside the MPV, Hyundai has confirmed an all-new off-road SUV that will focus on capability, strength, and adventure. Instead of being a direct rival to the Mahindra Thar or Force Gurkha, Hyundai’s SUV will likely take a more urban-meets-adventure approach — built on a monocoque platform with high ground clearance, muscular looks, and versatile performance.
This SUV is expected to join Hyundai’s midsize SUV lineup, sitting alongside popular models like the Creta and Alcazar, but offering a more rugged and outdoor-friendly experience. It’s likely to feature all-terrain driving modes, strong off-road dynamics, and a design inspired by Hyundai’s global SUV DNA.
Electric Future, Luxury Entry & Strong Market Goals
Hyundai isn’t stopping there. The company has also announced plans to locally manufacture India’s first dedicated electric SUV by 2027, a major milestone for the Indian EV market. Around the same time, Hyundai’s luxury brand Genesis will finally make its entry into India, offering a premium alternative to BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz.
By the end of the decade, Hyundai aims for utility vehicles (SUVs and MPVs) to contribute more than 80% of total sales, with over 50% of its lineup powered by eco-friendly tech like CNG, hybrid, or full-electric systems. The company also plans to expand its sales and service reach to 85% of India’s districts, with rural areas contributing nearly 30% of total sales. Financially, Hyundai targets a 1.5X revenue boost, crossing the ₹1 lakh crore mark by FY2030.
Final Take – Hyundai Is Gearing Up For Its Most Exciting Decade Yet
With new product segments, electric mobility, luxury expansion, and a ₹45,000 crore investment plan, Hyundai is preparing for a massive transformation in India. The upcoming MPV and off-road SUV will be key highlights of this journey, bringing innovation, style, and performance to Indian roads.
