Chinese EV maker Leapmotor has officially unveiled its all-new electric hatchback, the Leapmotor Lafa 5, at the 2025 Munich Motor Show.
The Lafa 5 marks a major design shift for the brand and becomes the first model built on the advanced LEAP 3.5 platform, which will also power future B-series models.

The Lafa 5 is a stylish 5-door compact hatchback featuring a sleek aerodynamic design.
It gets full-width LED tail lamps, a sporty rear spoiler, and 19-inch alloy wheels, giving it a bold European appeal.
Spy images revealed frameless doors, flush-fit handles, and swooping body lines that make the car look premium and futuristic.
Leapmotor’s signature front and rear styling are clearly visible, ensuring it fits perfectly within the brand’s EV identity.
Powerful and Efficient – Up to 434 km Range With Dual Battery Options on the LEAP 3.5 Platform
The Lafa 5 is built on the LEAP 3.5 platform, supporting rear-wheel drive and advanced battery architecture.
It comes with two battery choices — a 52.6 kWh pack offering 361 km range, and a 67.1 kWh pack delivering 434 km range (WLTP).
The electric motor produces 215 hp (160 kW), providing instant torque and smooth performance.
Global Expansion – Leapmotor’s First European EV Production to Begin in Spain by 2026
Production of the Lafa 5 will begin in Zaragoza, Spain, at Leapmotor’s first European assembly plant in Q3 2026.
The car will be sold in both China and Europe, where it will use the export name B05.
