Tata Motors has kicked off the festive season with record domestic sales in September 2025, dispatching 59,667 units, marking its highest-ever monthly sales and a 45% YoY growth over September 2024. Strong SUV performance, GST 2.0 benefits, and positive buyer sentiment helped Tata achieve this milestone, making it the highest quarterly sales in Q2 FY26.

The Tata Nexon continued to be the volume driver, dispatching 22,573 units – nearly doubling its sales from last year. Its success is backed by multiple powertrain options, including petrol, diesel, CNG, and electric variants, making it highly appealing to a wide range of buyers.

The Tata Punch, a mass-market hit, contributed 15,891 units, posting 16% YoY growth and a 48% increase over August 2025, reflecting dealer stocking and festive demand. Both compact SUVs were crucial in driving Tata’s highest monthly domestic dispatches.

The Tata Tiago nearly doubled its numbers to 8,322 units, with affordable CNG and AMT options keeping it relevant in a SUV-dominated market. The Altroz climbed to 4,168 units, achieving a 51% YoY rise due to mid-cycle updates, cosmetic changes, and feature additions.

The Harrier led premium SUV growth with 4,181 units, up 161% YoY, followed by the Safari at 2,000 units, showing steady demand. Meanwhile, the Curvv declined sharply by 67%, with just 1,566 units dispatched, highlighting selective market response to Tata’s product portfolio.

With SUVs contributing nearly 80% of total dispatches, Tata Motors has strengthened its segment presence. Looking ahead, the new Sierra launch in early 2026 is expected to expand Tata’s midsize SUV portfolio and further consolidate its leadership in the segment.
